Although Chad Berger Bucking Bulls was established in 2003, it really got its start in the early 1960’s. Chad’s father Joe, a well known bull breeder and stock contractor began buying bulls for Chad and his brother Fred to ride. He soon had enough bulls to start supplying smaller rodeos and it grew from there and by the 90’s Joe was raising world champions including what many consider to be one of the greatest bulls ever “Little Yellow Jacket.”
In 2003 with support of his entire family Chad started Chad Berger Bucking Bulls. The company has been a family affair from the word go, with everyone playing an important role in the overall success. Sarah Berger takes on the important role of producing the yearly PBR Challenger Tour event. Chad and Sarah’s three kids, Lacey her husband JR, son John and youngest daughter Sadie all play different roles in the family business from caring for and hauling the bulls to sales and marketing.
Chad Berger Bucking Bulls along with Clay Struve have been PBR Stock Contractor of the year a record 11 times, and their bull Smooth Operator is a two time PBR World Champion. Chad, Sarah and their family all reside at the family ranch in Mandan, North Dakota.
